The LSU Developmental Stuttering Lab was established in 2014 to examine factors which may contribute to onset of stuttering in children, its persistence into adulthood, and how these factors may precipitate moments of stuttered speech. Current projects focus on the relationship between cognitive abilities, linguistic processing, and subtle motor differences within individuals who stutter. The long-term goal of these research efforts is to modify traditional stuttering treatment to address the underlying, individual differences within each client.
